Who Am I?

Hi, My Name is Jenny.

More Professionally:      Jennifer Price, LMHC, PMH-C

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Perinatal Mental Health Certification

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, with a Certification in Perinatal Mental Health.  I  have been practicing  therapy for 11 years.  I absolutely love what I do.  My passion for this niche of counseling was strongly fueled by my own struggle with Post Partum Depression.  I learned from talking to others, my own research, and professional trainings that what I was experiencing happens- and it happens A LOT, to a lot of people.  I learned I was not alone, and my goal is to provide you with that same comfort.

I have two children, ages 3 and 5. I love gardening, watching HGTV, and some reality shows that I am too embarrassed to name.

My favorite counseling motto is, "no one comes here for a good time." If you are scared or worried to start counseling, that is normal and it is okay.

Counseling is hard.  It can be provoking and emotional.  I will be with you every step of the way.   You are not alone.

Please do not be frightened to reach out for help.

Pricing and Insurance Information

During our first meeting, you will receive all legal and privacy related paperwork.  This includes a counseling agreement, consent forms and other information you will find helpful.

When reaching out for help, many people want to know if I accept insurance.  At this time, I do not accept insurance.  Let me explain: Allowing insurance to assist you in payments in wonderful.  However, it also means that your insurance company is privy to any information you disclose during our sessions, including my documentation.  Based on their assisting with payment, insurance companies also reserve the right to determine how often we meet, my course of treatment with you, and how many sessions will be approved.  When it comes to your counseling journey, I do not believe that "one size fits all."

Payment Accepted Includes:

Cash, Check, and Credit/HSA/Debit Card, which is processed through IVY PAY, a HIPAA compliant service.  Receipt available upon request.

Payment is due on the date of service.

Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy is the most common form of treatment.  After an initial meeting, we decided together how often we should meet based on your needs, time availability, and comfort level.  Most people begin meeting once a week or every other week initially.  I tend to relay heavily on two different approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy, but do not limit my practice to these interventions.  As appropriate, I will consult with your PCP, OB/GYN, or other professionals.  Sessions are 60 minutes and held in Fairport, NY, right along the Erie Canal, in the Canalside Therapeutic Arts building.  The cost is $90 for 60 minutes.

Babies are welcomed in session.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and Talk therapy is available alongside the Erie Canal in Fairport.  The session time is $90 for 60 minutes, and an additional confidentiality waiver must be signed, which will be fully reviewed prior to participation.

Babies/Strollers are welcome.

In Home Services

Due to constraints such as a recent C-Section, lack of child care, or for other reasons,  leaving the house can not only be anxiety provoking, but can be physically impossible.  For reasons such as this and others, I offer in your home therapy.  The cost of in home treatment is $110 for 60 minutes.  Rates may be adjusted as needed due to distance of travel.

Current Groups

Self Care Sunday occurs the first Sunday of each month, from 10:00am-11:30am (time changes may apply).  The cost is $35.00 per session. This is an open group- attend once or every month.

Birth Trauma Group Workshop: Did you find your experience of bringing your child into this world to have been scary, upsetting or traumatizing? Do you constantly think about your child's birth date and feel sadness, disappointment, anger or anxiety? Was your baby placed into medical care that prevented you the early bonding process you desired? If you identify with any of these sentiments, you may find relief from joining this 3 part group workshop.

In this workshop, you will:

-Process your experience to understand how it impacted you emotionally. You will receive validation that you are not "overreacting" and that the outcome (your baby) does not negate what you went through or how you feel about it.

-Receive education about what trauma is, and how to cope with it

-Learn about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and have the opportunity "re-write" your story in way that feels less upsetting.

-Gain a basic understanding of Post Partum Mood Disorders

Cost of the 3 part workshop is $250.  Dates are ongoing, so please reach out for the next availability

All potential group members must first complete a regular intake/individual session.

Tele Therapy

Teletherapy is available through Doxy.me, a HIPAA compliant medical platform.
